Broken window shades

Welcome to another ‘Window FAQ’ post from Mindy, a fabulous Customer Service Representative here at Blinds.com.

How do I fix a broken blind or cell shade cord?

Broken cords on your window treatments can happen – an overly vigorous window shade opening, a less than helpful family pet looking for a unique snack... life happens!

Whatever the case may be, you don't always have to replace the entire window covering just because your cord is broken.

Re-stringing tools from FixMyBlinds

If the cord is the only part that needs to be replaced, check out www.fixmyblinds.com and look for their EZ-Restring Kits that ship directly to your home.  The kit will come complete with detailed instructions, so you'll be enjoying your window treatments again in no time flat.

You'll also be able to see the difficulty level of different window shade re-stringing projects so you won't feel like you're in over your head.  You'll love their step-by-step videos too!

For the rest of us that might not feel up to this particular DIY project (myself included, depending on the weekend) Service Magic is the right fit!  This website allows you to type in your local zip code to find blind repair professionals in your area that will come right to your home – easy right?

Need another replacement part?

If you need another part for your Blinds.com window treatments, you can shoot us a replacement part order here and we'll get you rolling!

Be sure to refer to our handy window replacement part name identifier, in case you can't tell the difference between a cord joiner or a tilt wand.  We won't judge 🙂
