Valances are a wonderful way to dress up a window without a full-on fabric overload. They’re great in so many situations. If you have small windows, a simple accent, like a valance, is a great way to keep your windows feeling open but not bare. If you have a lot of windows side by side and touching, you can install one long valance over the top of all of them. Savvy Blinds.com customer Katie B. shared her bathroom décor with me a few days ago. Check out her great use of a grommet valance.
The drapery is super
stylish, and perfect for right over the tub to give the bathroom a comfy, cozy
vibe. On this smallish window, it’s just right.
I love the iridescent fabric; it looks great as sunlight
comes through it, and when it’s dark outside. The rich, brown material will
never go out of style. It’s totally timeless.
Here are some more photos of beautiful valances, for your inspiration:
Kind of preppy, kind of formal. I love the bright colors and stripes. This pattern is perfect for Spring and Summer.
Add a touch of color to an antique powder room with a
romantic valance.
Simply
gorgeous. The matching valance and roman shade in fiery orange and red paisley
is perfectly on point with 2009 window treatment trends. The stark white
accents mellow out the bright wall and drapery colors. The wall color and the draperies work together because the wall color is slightly darker than the main colors that pop out of the shade.
Satiny swag valances are very formal. Notice the barely-there cellular shade underneath. It blocks light, insulates, and protects furniture without drawing attention away from the drapery valance.
Linen is the perfect fabric for warm weather. Try using is windows as well as in your wardrobe.
Happy decorating,
