As we gear up to put on our creative costumes and the leaves begin to fall, we become surrounded by the color orange. Most often, we think of orange as being slightly, um, “out there” as it related to home decor, but I personally love the idea of using orange when decorating. Done right, orange really brings out the other colors in a room and pops like no other color can. It carries well all year long, even though it’s often thought of as a seasonal color. We have a total cruch on orange right now, especially for window treatments. If you’ve got a blank canvas to work with (meaning neutral decor everywhere else), you can easily throw some orange up on your windows and make a major statement. Here are some of my favorite products to help you incorporate orange into your home through blinds and shades:
1. Choose a modern orange top treatment over blinds and shades you already have. Shown here is a favorite fabric of mine called Enchantment Auburn. It looks stunning when used for a grommet panel.
2. Roman shades in orange are divine. I recently wrote about how roman shades are making a comeback. Choose a fabric like Wave Spice from Bali for their Custom Tailored Roman Shade, which has both deep auburn hues and rich yellows to make it work for any season.
3. Just a touch of orange will take you far. If you don’t want to go all out with orange, why not choose something that has orange undertones or accents? The Blinds.com Brand Fabric Verticals come in a color called London Rust, which is more of an earthy brick. It pulls in a lot of different colors.
