Dusty is the wonderful author and creator of blog As Mom Sees It. Her blog includes anything from trips to Disney to home decor, and we love it all! Recently Dusty and her family built a new house with a lovely light-filled sunroom. This room was one of the things that the family was looking forward to using the most in their new home.

A New Sunroom From The Ground Up

The foundation of a good sunroom is windows, and lots of them. With windows come window treatments, and Blinds.com was there to help!

Finding a Perfect Coastal Match

Dusty knew that she wanted this room to have a coastal feel, and needed the right blinds to achieve that.

Dusty Says:

We had multiple phone conversations with Kelly, one of Blinds.com’s amazing design consultants. We wanted to capture the feeling of being at a cottage or beach house because of the ocean-like blue paint color we’d decided on and the flood of natural light that poured through the windows.

After much consideration Dusty decided on our Architectural Wood Blinds with a weathered look. These blinds gave her the cottage feel that she was looking for, and a clear view out to her lovely backyard.

Custom Options for a One-of-a-Kind Look

It’s important to get blinds that fit your window size and needs perfectly. That’s why we make all of our blinds to order and offer custom options. Find out what Dusty chose for her space.

Dusty Writes:

Our designer, Kelly, suggested a matching valance and, my favorite detail of all, the decorate cloth tape feature instead of the traditional white strings that you’d see on most blinds.

Vintage Coastal Blinds Go Up

Vertically challenged Dusty couldn’t hang the blinds without a stepladder, so she had fiancee Doug give her a hand.

Stunning Sunroom Reveal

With the house finished and all the furniture in, Dusty’s sunroom got the exact coastal feel she was going for. Even though the view outside was snowy, she could channel the beach vibes in her little oasis.
