Lady Living Room or Ma’am Cave?

It’s Monday mood board day with designer Ann Ueno of House & Host. We can’t stop thinking about her anything-but-boring neutral living room from last week. Here’s this week’s feminine creation: Lady Living Whether you’re a woman living alone with the freedom to decorate with over the top girliness, or if you’ve carved off a space at home to be your “ma’am cave” this metallic pink space is perfect. It can be tough to pull off a pink couch, but with an otherwise neutral backdrop, it works. Luxe metallic accessories call for equally sumptuous window coverings. The Cameo Deep Cowslip fabric is heavier weight, so it holds volume beautifully, but as a silk blend it retains a slight sheen. Add…

Little Pincushion Studio

While browsing Houzz one day, I became immediately entranced after seeing the work of Annabel from Little Pincushion Studio. She teaches young girls how to sew and think with their crafty minds in this adorable studio she put together in rural Virginia. As one would expect, Annabel is an avid DIYer. Her blog consists of tons of crafty tutorials and projects. These 3 projects were especially inspiring: 1. Chair Reinvention Annabel found this vintage chair at her local Habitat for Humanity store, and after adding a little paint to it, it looks amazing! Transformations like this give me the urge to go thrift shopping, especially since the chair only cost her $10! 2. DIY Painted Clutch Inspired by “the most beautiful waxed…

Designer We Love: Bryn Alexandra

Bryn Alexandra

Although Bryn Alexandra originally started out in Advertising, it’s evident that her destiny was to become an interior designer. I recently stumbled across her blog and I was blown away by her work! I love how delicate and chic her style is, she achieves a clean and crisp look without it seeming dull or unoriginal. She’s so great that some of her room designs were featured in HGTV magazine: If this isn’t enough reason to make you fall in love with Bryn – I’ve got more evidence proving her genius. She came up with what was in my opinion, an extremely creative idea: the white box challenge. Bryn gifted three of her favorite bloggers with this lucite box from Joy…

A Blog We Love: Desire to Inspire

Like its name would suggest, Desire to Inspire is one inspiring blog. It’s run by two women, Kim and Jo, who describe themselves as “interior design junkies” and actually met on Flickr – this age of technology we live in is pretty amazing. What makes this blog so special is the eye that these two have for design. The photos and vignettes they publish on their blog are always thought-provoking and unique. Feed your Design Cravings with these 3 Posts: Playing Favourites Jo found these gorgeous photos that were featured in an issue of Inside Out as the ‘Boerum Hill home’. This room has the perfect combination of rustic-old age style. With antique mirrors and unfinished wood details, there’s a…
