Awe-inspiring musical performances and the most avante-garde fashion moments of the year swept the small screen at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. We home decorating junkies couldn’t help but be in awe of this year’s set design. Stages seemed to emerge from nowhere, and a maze of walkways allowed artists to crisscross among crowds of fans. Toward the end of the night, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ emerged from a ring of weathered American flags to perform ‘Same Love’ with Mary Lambert and surprise guest Jennifer Hudson.
